Vito's Restaurant in Modesto

New to Modesto, coming from Turlock, California

Vito's Restaurant is open for business at 918 13th St. in Modesto. Owners Serj Piro and Antoine Sargis brought their classic Italian cuisine to Modesto's downtown dining scene from Turlock, where they operate Vito's Ristorante & Pizzeria at 3851 Crowell Road.

They acquired Nosh, which had operated in that space, and revamped it to fit their needs changing the paint scheme and adding Tuscan-themed murals. Diners will find a large selection of soup, salads, sandwiches and entrees, including pasta, chicken, steak, veal and seafood. There's also an extensive wine list and full bar.

Our input on Vito's Restaurant Modesto:

They just opened in Mid September. We went there with a group of 6 people and sat near the door about one week after they had opened. As with many restaurants that just open they were a bit disorganized, with silverware missing and orders mixed up, however the ambience was pleasant and the waiter apologized profusely for being new. I anticipate that all this would change for the better. Despite being quite packed, the noise level was tolerable. We have also visited Vito's Restaurant in Turlock: There they had selections of pizza for dinner. The atmosphere is quite different; both classy. There's a younger energy present in Vito's in Turlock, and there's a more sophisticated energy present in Vito's in Modesto
